A Marketing Spectacular

What does marketing have to do with spectaculars? Allow us to answer the question.

In 2003, Radiant Creations introduced a light show spectacular at an outdoor shopping complex at Mackinaw Crossings in Mackinaw City, Michigan. We set up the permanent show to run nightly from a small amphitheater in a courtyard surrounded by retail shops.

The objective was to offer patrons a free attraction to increase foot traffic, attendance and exposure to the “more desired and higher rent” shops and eateries throughout the Crossings development.

After one month, the show became a "must-see" for tourists. Every night, crowds of 2000 to 3000 gathered on the lawn hours before the presentation, and continued to rave over the show after its seasonal October closing.

The partners of the Crossings complex were able to add higher value to the stores in the courtyard due to the new attraction, which added traffic of over 2,000 visitors nightly to the shops.

We have created similar shows at other retail establishments, including Frankenmuth, MI.
